Quality Assuring Internal Audit
Divider

Quality Assuring Internal AuditTo meet the international standards for the professional practice of internal auditing, an internal audit function must obtain an external assessment at least once every five years.

Such reviews must be conducted by a qualified, independent reviewer or
review team from outside the organisation.

The IIA Professional standards specify that a qualified reviewer or review team has to demonstrate competency in two areas:

  • The professional practice of internal auditing and
  • The external assessment process.

We have trained audit functions all over the world in IA best practice and have extensive experience in the field

We have completed quality assessment review across the world during the past 8 years. We have one of the biggest databases of internal audit best practice in the world with detailed information from over 5,000 internal audit functions. This database has been build up via external quality assessments and regular surveys (both sector specific and cross-sector).

You can therefore be totally confident that you will receive a professional and comprehensive external evaluation of all aspects of the internal audit process. The resultant report will indicate both strengths and opportunities and include practical recommendations to enhance the process

Quality Assuring Internal AuditWe will also provide as an added benefit a service something which we believe to be a unique. This is a comparison of the 200 aspects of the IA process against our best practice database to provide you an overall score (compared to the best in the world)

The full QA review will typically take 5-6 days (including interviews with key decision makers and writing the report)

An outline of a typical review shows the comprehensive focus of the review.

If you would like to discuss the opportunity for BRM to undertake A QA review on your behalf please e-mail Phil pg@businessrisk.co.uk or ring him on +44 (0) 161 339 9016
